what are the legal consequences of claiming false ownership of a vehicle?
Hello, one of my friends called a junk car shop that posted an advertisement for junk cars. He claimed to own a vehicle that he did not own that was parked by someone on a street with a for sale sign on it. The junk car shop said it didn’t need the title or keys (which he didn’t have since the car isnt his) so they came and towed the car away thinkin it was my friends (they payed him $200 for it) the junk car shop was unaware the car wasn’t my friends and the owner of the vehicle is not aware the car is gone (yet) what could potentially happen to my friend if he is caught for doing this?
